Feed the Need: Growing a stronger, more connected community
At Slightly Savage Homestead, we believe a true homestead doesn't just sustain itself—it helps sustain the community around it. Good, nutritious food should never be a luxury, and it should certainly never go to waste when there are folks in our own backyard who could use a hand.
That’s why we created Feed the Need, an initiative dedicated to fighting food insecurity, supporting local organizations, and building a future where everyone has access to fresh produce.
How We Are Giving Back Today
Mother Nature doesn't always grow exactly to order. Every week, all of our unsold farm-fresh eggs and seasonal produce are packed up and donated directly to local food pantries. This ensures our neighbors have access to high-quality, locally grown food, and helps us maintain a zero-waste philosophy.
Scan to Support
We want to make it as easy as possible to lift each other up. Below, you’ll find our direct-donation board featuring QR codes for some of the local charities doing the heavy lifting in our area. Just open your phone's camera, scan a code, and send a donation directly to an organization making a real difference.
Building the Future: The Mobile Market Fund
Our ultimate goal is to take the harvest on the road. We are currently raising funds to build a Mobile Market Stand that will travel directly into local food deserts to provide bags of fresh produce to families completely free of charge.
Want to help us get our wheels? You can contribute to our Mobile Market seed fund by adding a donation to your cart using the link below. Every single dollar goes directly toward the infrastructure, gas, and supplies needed to bring the farm to the neighborhoods that need it most.
Thank you for supporting Slightly Savage Homestead. By shopping with us, you aren't just supporting a small business—you are helping us keep our roots deep and our community fed.
