About the Breed Black Copper Marans are magnificent, hardy birds. They sport beautiful, iridescent black plumage with striking copper hackles and lightly feathered legs. They are excellent foragers, dual-purpose birds, and generally have a calm, confident temperament that makes them a joy to have around the yard.

(Please note: The intensity of the dark pigment naturally lightens slightly as a hen progresses through her laying cycle, but our flock genetics are selected for deep, rich color!)

Shipping & Hatching Disclaimer: We take immense pride in our packaging and do everything in our power to ensure your eggs arrive safely. Each egg is individually wrapped and securely cushioned to protect it during transit. Hatching eggs are shipped fresh and unwashed to preserve their natural bloom. We regularly check our flock's fertility; however, due to the unpredictable nature of postal handling, temperature fluctuations during shipping, and individual incubation practices, we cannot guarantee your final hatch rate. We do guarantee that you are receiving fresh eggs packed with care! Please let eggs rest point-down for 12-24 hours before incubating.  All orders are shipped with USPS Priority Express. If your order arrived damaged, you MUST contact me within 12 hours of delivery in order to process claims.
